| A team of Accredited Personnel with fully calibrated equipment carries out Service and Maintenance at Hamilton Australia.
Additionally, for all fume cupboards maintained under Hamilton's Service and Maintenance Division we can provide a 24 hour 7 days a week breakdown service.
To comply with the Statutory requirements of the Workplace Health & Safety Act and Regulations, Fume Cupboards are to be regularly tested and maintained with test reports collated and retained.

Section 5 (Maintenance and Testing) of AS2243.8 requires that the entire Fume Cupboard system be subject to periodic inspection. A maintenance program is to be initiated and records retained.
We provide comprehensive details all test reports and recommend course of action in case of failures.
The service and testing schedule listed below is based on minimum requirements
A. Six Monthly Intervals
- Check face velocity
- Perform a smoke test
- Inspect fans, motors, drives and bearings. Lubricated as appropriate
- Inspect scrubbers and wash-down facilities, if fitted
- Inspect effluent treatment units, if fitted
- Inspect fire dampers, if fitted
B. Annual Maintenance
In addition to the 6 monthly items the following are required to be carried out:
- Remove baffles and clean interior of the Fume Cupboard
- Inspect services and ensure that they are identified and operational
- Inspect discharge stack
- Inspect duct work
- Inspect make-up air system
- Inspect filters, if fitted
- Check satisfactory operation of Fume Cupboard
- Check emergency shutdown and isolation of services, if fitted
